Bag Raiders touched down in Brisbane last Friday and delivered a live set of world class proportions. At the Hi-Fi Bar in West End the masses were gathering, from wall to wall people were hyped. The venue was much like a club and concert hall combined, the way the crowd looked bouncing around it might as well have been a festival.
The sound system was massive and support DJs Flight Facilities were making the most of the equipment, mixing electro with disco house that fit the bill and kept the crowd moving. The set-up provided was a card-table with CDJs tightly arranged, not leaving a lot of room to manuvere. This did not affect the quality of the set, and as it progressed, peopled flowed through the doors onto the dancefloor. Flight Facilities closed with Crave You and the room toppled over the edge. The front of the stage was rushed as everybody erupted in song.
After this the curtains closed and it was nearly time. Ten minutes later, the show started with the curtains opened to reveal the stage set with drums, vocoder, synth and massive LEDs. Bag Raiders kicked off with Way Back Home, preaching the sermon of Concrete House.
They continued on this path, bringing the tempo up with punchy, precision drumming and seriously impressive visuals, then back down with some never-before-heard songs. The closing song was Shooting Stars and from start to finish the crowd loved every second. This live show is certainly not to be missed. Bag Raiders are some very talented gentlemen.
