DJ/producer Sinden returned on Friday night to play the Brisbane leg of his inthemix-presented Australian tour and true to form, delivered a set that no one could compete with.

I made my way to Oh Hello!, the Brisbane venue boasting slick warehouse-style interiors and drinks uniquely served in jars. Looking around, the crowd was clearly hyped and by around 11pm the place was decently filled, though not too packed that anyone was denied a view of the DJ box. There were also rumours flying around of a secret room at Oh Hello! – something I, unfortunately, cannot confirm nor deny.

I made my way to the dance-floor where Sampology was warming up with a solid selection of new and old tracks – quickly getting the place was pulsing, Sampology proved himself one to watch.

The club filled fast and as Sampology finished and Sinden took the stage. The crowd was commanded to dance by Sinden’s addictive rhythms, and it was obvious from the crowd around the DJ booth that people had been waiting a long time for this night.

Sinden’s style was hard to pigeonhole, though at times it could be described as a mix of house and afro-beat. The set flowed flawlessly, the visuals looked fantastic and Sinden knew just how to keep the club moving well into the night.

Sinden’s performance on Friday acted as a reminder of why the bass-fiend is one of the UK’s top DJs – when he plays, it is simply not to be missed.
