It was the perfect night for the unveiling of Missbehavin’- a club created by two beautiful masterminds, Sophia Brown and Miss DJ. I arrived at The Victoria Hotel at around 11pm, with work preventing me from arriving any earlier. But I managed to arrive just in time to catch the likes of Liz Millar- spinning it up with some chilled tunes which served as the perfect inspiration to chat over some drinks or just shake your toosh to this fine delegation of sound.

Next up, was Miss DJ, who threw some classic tracks into a finely carved set- with the crowd bopping around with a spread of joy in their faces. This joy did not cease with the inclusion of Ides who’s ecclectic style included a mix of retro style funk and break beats. With this fine showcase of women teasing the crowd and creating a splendour of talent and earbashing pleasure.

There were quite a few people who filled the nooks and crannies and the dancefloor of the Victoria Hotel- which served as a perfect venue with style and class. The crowd all seemed content to just sit around and absorb the vibe over drinks and a chat (with plenty of space to lounge about on the couches or tables!) – while a handful of others chose to bust their moves on the well spaced dancefloor.

The vibe was glowing and I loved the comfort factor of the night! It was not a feminist convention- with everybody seeming refreshed by the sound and sight of a female DJ only night.

Congratulations going out to Sophia and Miss DJ for a successful night! FOr those of you that didn’t manage to get down their- it’s well worth checking out. So get your arses down to Missbehavin’ EVERY THURSDAY @ The Victoria Hotel, 123 Beaconsfield Parade, Albert Park AND check out the fine rotating talent of Miss DJ, Liz Millar, Pixelton, TOupee, Kate S, Jnett, Mish, Ides, Erica, Katy K, Tiger Lulu, Disko Pussy and Miss Krystal! Show your support and soak up the vibe of this wonderful night that is ‘Missbehavin’.
