I had not yet made my way to a Fourplay party and was looking forward to hitting some German beer and some casual beats on Saturday afternoon as a somewhat second preparation to the rest of my long weekend. What better way than to hit the Roxbury in Glebe for the German passport party.

So I was expecting a beer garden full of relaxed punters drinking steins full of Beck’s served by the strongest barmaids Sydney had to offer. Much to my surprise, the Roxbury, although having the outward appearance of a regular pub, is set up beautifully for an afternoon dance party with smallish dance floor and a little stage for the live acts too. Oh did I mention the bunch of happy punters relaxing in what could have been your local club just a bit earlier as well.

Sadly I missed the set of Two-Up as four O’clock was going to be a little bit ambitious for me this early in a long weekend. I did hear all good things though, from the studio audience, and am looking forward to actually making one of Glen’s sets sometime pretty soon. So there we were watching while Multiball got their shit together on the stage in the corner while we kicked back on a cool blue couch to the tunes of EdSeven. I had prepared myself by now for a nice hour enjoying some deadly half-price cocktails with quite a few familiar ITM and clubbing faces to chat loudly with about world politics while we waited to see what Multiball were going to be like. By the way, watch the cocktails cause they’re not very soft shall we say. Yummy though. After EdSeven had kept me happy for what felt like ten minutes (a good sign in my books) it was time to get my first dose of Mulitball. I really enjoyed their set, as it seemed to start mixed in with EdSevens last track. They (multiball) have a really cool loungey feel to them at first but then they pick up the pace and the dancefloor started to move. Most enjoyable!

Upstairs the Airbourne lounge presented Mirage, Lucian and Munk&Alf with Ro MCing in a very nice chill room setup where everyone seemed to end up huddled together at the end of the night. I was a little amazed to be in such a strange environment for a Sydney pub on a Saturday afternoon. I felt as though I had walked into a disco an hour before they were quite ready to let the public in. Lots of friendly faces and familiar people around to amuse yourself with before heading out for the night. I recommend you check out the next installment of fourplay for the Jamaican passport party. Here, try this for a good time.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
