When DJ Nervous hits the decks, you know about it. He’s famous throughout Sydney (home territory) for his more outlandish behaviour while playing. DJ Nervous not only dances during his set, but, throws his hands in the air along with his big cheesy smile which can only mean that this guy really enjoys what he does for a living. Swamped with fans after each gig, Nervous is not only approachable, but inspiring to talk to. It’s important to him that YOU have an awesome time. Always ready with a track to keep your body moving with his more uplifting style, and also willing to throw down those hard bass tones that send shivers down your spine. DJ Nervous is the host for AMP @ Transmission on MTV for 7 years now and he is also the promoter for Transmission and Sydney’s favourite Friday night club Plastic. Busy man.
The Transmission parties first began back in 1996 at the legendary Sublime in Pitt Street. Transmission is synonymous with technology and cyberspace and as Australian history shows, the Transmission events were the first dance events to be simulcast live across Sydney on radio (2SER); Transmission was the first dance event to be broadcast live on the Internet (Village.com); it was the first dance event to be filmed on pay TV (MTV on Optus).
Transmission was the first dance party to introduce the 4×4 Dueling Deck Configuration which enabled two DJs to play four tracks at once through the sound system. Transmission’s 3rd birthday in 1999 was broadcast across the nation on Triple J and hosted by DJ Nervous. The 4th Birthday linked up Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth LIVE and the 6th Birthday hosted 3 DJs on Hexa-Deck Technology (6 decks) to the wonderous amazement of more than 5,000 over 18s at The State Sports Centre in September, 2002. The State Sports Centre in Sydney Olympic Park continues to be the host venue for Transmission, exclusively. In May 2003, Transmission created an event to host local live performers and producers to showcase their talents live on Triple J naturally the event was a massive 5,000 strong, sold-out success and the beginning of another annual event called Transmission LIVE
