Scott Bond, at 31 years of age, is now a veteran to the DJing scene and is also an old hand to the Australian music scene. Scott has hit our shores 5 times previous to his upcoming tour that sees Slinky coming down under. Scott says he loves it here in Australia because Australians really appreciate new music and openly enjoy the journey. Scott is the resident DJ and co-promoter of Gatecrasher Nightclub in Sheffield, England, and has made a huge success with his collaborations with Solar Stone. ‘Third Earth’ and ‘Naked Angel’ both massively supported by the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buurren, Judge Jules and Tiesto just to name a few. Scott has also played a few classic mixes for Pete Tong’s Essential Mix show on Radio One UK. I took the opportunity to speak with Scott and here’s what he had to say. The record that never leaves his box is of course his latest production along with his classic floorfillers. The latest production to be released is called Red Line Highway produced in conjunction with Solarstone. Other classics such as 3rd Earth & Naked Angel are long time favourites as well. The best part about Scott’s DJing career in his mind is the ability to travel and do what he loves for a living but the downer with it is constantly being at the airport all the time. Scott’s favourite gig held close to his heart is when he played in Tel Aviv. Playing at a club called “Octopus” Scott enjoyed the chance to play in an open air club right by the beach. Waves crashing to the beat in the background whilst enjoying a picture perfect sunrise; what more could you ask for! Scott’s ambitions have always centred around being a DJ. There was never a doubt in his mind that he was not going to DJ and made no attempt at having something to fall back on. DJing has always been the dream and with determination Scott’s name now gets mentioned along with the best of them. Natural progression has seen Scott move into music production. I asked Scott if he had a preference between DJing or producing to which he has an equal passion for both and finds that music production simply rides hand in hand with DJing. There was no single track or DJ that really got him thinking about wanting to DJ professionally it was simply his love of raves and massive parties led him down the music path. What should we expect to see from Scott Bond?! Well, Scott has just recently launched a new record label with Solarstone called “Made in England” to which all his new productions will now be released through. Scott also has a new CD called AHEAD that he will be releasing on July 5th. For more information on Scotts new album head to
