STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
One of the most enduring identities in the global dance music scene, Dave Seaman has pretty much been around since year zero of the acid house movement. Rising to the level of ‘superstar DJ’ status in the 90s, Seaman excelled among the progressive house scene, and it’s a testament to his ability and skill as a DJ that he remains a relevant member of the music industry to this day.
Gearing up for his umpteenth Australian tour this month, visiting down under to launch his latest mix CD, ‘Therapy Sessions Vol 3’, mixed alongside Lexicon Avenue, ITM’s Tim Hardaker caught up with Dave to find out what it’s like touring the world with his family in tow, his thoughts on Vogue Magazine’s recent article claiming that “rave” was back in fashion, and what really went down on his first tour of Australia when he found himself in trouble with the Immigration Department.
‘Therapy Sessions Vol 3’, mixed by Dave Seaman and Lexicon Avenue, is out now through Therapy Music and Stomp. Dave tours Australia over the coming weeks:
Fri 19th Jan – Room680, Melbourne
Sat 20th Jan – Sweetchilli, Sydney
Thu 25th Jan – Ambar, Perth
Fri 26th Jan – Syrup, Tasmania
Fri 2nd Feb – Platinum, Gold Coast
Sat 3rd Feb – GPO, Brisbane
