STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
Although the USA has often trailed behind the UK and Europe when it comes to electronic music, there’s no denying that Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan – otherwise known as The Crystal Method – have done an admirable job putting America on the map. When it comes to kick ass big beat, breaks and electronica, since the mid 90s The Crystal Method have solidified their reputation as leaders in the US dance music scene, releasing several scintillating albums, which have spawned a plethora of dancefloor destroying singles, including ‘Keep Hope Alive’, ‘Busy Child’, ‘Born Too Slow’ and ‘Name Of The Game’.
Heading back to Australia in January and February to headline the Big Day Out’s Boiler Room, inthemix’s Jonathan Gifford recently caught up with Scott Kirkland and learnt the ins and outs of his creative collaborations with partner in crime Ken Jordan, when they’re likely to unleash their next album, why Australia is their favourite place to tour (apart from the US and Canada, of course!), and why he’s more like to get into it after a few pints of vodka…
