STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

Fort Knox Five could quite possibly be the funkiest four-piece in the breakbeat scene. Hailing out of Washington DC, they’ve released a long list of dancefloor bombs, mixing elements of funk, hip-hop, jazz, latin and more. Having toured Australia a few times already, they’re about to return for the Good Vibrations Festival this month.

Tim Hardaker caught up with Jon H to talk shop, finding out what it was like playing to 300,000 people at a peace march in Washington, what they’ve been keeping busy with of late, what they’re looking forward to about sharing a bill with the Beastie Boys and Jurassic 5, and how they found the experience of touring with Gwen Stefani.

The Good Vibrations Festival tours the country this month:

Feb 10 – Melbourne, Good Vibrations Festival
Feb 11 – Gold Coast, Good Vibrations Festival
Feb 17 – Sydney, Good Vibrations Festival
Feb 18 – Perth, Good Vibrations Festival

Their new remix album ‘Fort Knox Five: Reminted’ is available locally through Inertia.
