STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEWS
Riot In Belgium are a duo whose reputation well and truly precedes them. Made up of Bennie Single (aka DJ Damage of Bang Gang crew infamy) and Joel Dickson (one-time member of Melbourne indie darlings Cut Copy), since they first piqued the interest of underground tech and electro heads with their breakthrough single ‘The Acid Never Lies’, the pair quickly found themselves signed up to Headman’s label Relish, and they’re now preparing to drop their latest release, the appropriately titled ‘La Musique’.
In the ensuing months following the success of ‘The Acid Never Lies’, Riot In Belgium were invited to mix one half of Ministry of Sound’s third ‘Mashed’ CD (alongside the, now defunct, Tonite Only), and after the subsequent tour and media hype died down, headed to Europe for a whirlwind trip to play London, Paris and Dublin. They’re now geared up for a huge few months of touring, with festival dates coming out the wazoo, and a prized national support slot with Soulwax.
Featured in the latest inthemix podcast session with their brand new single ‘La Musique’, we caught up with Bennie to find out a little on their past, present, and plans for the future.
