STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

When you think Global Underground a couple of names invariably spring to mind. Sasha, Digweed, Seaman… They’ve all contributed their fair share over the years, however topping the list of progressive megastars aligned with the brand would be Nick Warren, who has managed to release a staggering seven mixes in the seminal compilation series since it kicked off in 1996.

One of the pioneers of the progressive house sound, ITM’s Angus Paterson recently spoke with Warren while he had some down time in South America. Riding high on the release of his latest mix, ‘GU030: Paris’, Warren spoke about the media’s coverage of his supposed retirement from DJing following ‘GU024: Reykjavik’, how he’s seen the role of DJs change over his career, and when we might hear some new material from Way Out West, his longtime collaboration with Jody Wisternoff.

‘GU030: Paris’, mixed by Nick Warren, is out now through Global Underground/Shock. You can catch Nick when he tours Australia with the Future Music Festival in March.

Good interview. Can't wait to see this man live at Future Music Fest. Seen him twice before and I have never seen anyone read a crowd better. Great stuff.
