STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

Not many breakbeat acts can boast a fanbase of artist’s as diverse as Laurent Garnier, Hernan Cattaneo and Judge Jules, but it’s something that UK duo JDS (aka Darren Pearce and Julian Napolitano) have become accustomed to. Forming way back in 1997, JDS emerged with their seminal breakbeat hit ‘Nine Ways’ soon after, and have managed to maintain their popularity and credibility as producers ever since.

With tracks like ‘Blackout’, ‘Rockstar’, and the certified dancefloor destroyer ‘Purple Funky Monkey’ (released in 2004) on their discography, they’ve got a new album on the drawing board for this year, with Darren only too happy to talk about how its shaping up when he spoke with ITM’s Tim Hardaker recently.

Darren Pearce of JDS will be returning to Australia in March, playing selected Future Music Festival dates as well as their own solo sideshows:

Fri Mar 9 – Hobart, Halo
Sat Mar 10 – Brisbane, Future Music Festival
Sun Mar 11 – Melbourne, Future Music Festival
Mon Mar 12 – Adelaide, Future Music Festival
Fri Mar 16 – Perth, Ambar
Sat Mar 17 – Sydney, Future Music Festival
