STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

No one was more surprised than Fedde Le Grand himself when his breakthrough single – the criminally over-played ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’ – scaled charts across the world in 2006.

Featuring a bassline that’s more infectious than herpes (but thankfully not quite as painful), Le Grand takes a unique approach to the electro-house sound, something that’s sorely missing in the scene right now with cookie-cutter ‘electro’ tracks released on an almost daily basis. However, if you thought he was a one trick pony, Fedde’s here to prove he’s got a lot more to offer.

Touring Australia for the very first time in March on the Future Music Festival nationally, ITM’s Tim Hardaker caught up with Le Grand as he kicked back in Amsterdam, speaking about the runaway success of his debut single, the daunting task of following it up, and what it felt like to find Eminem’s D12 posse had decided to cover your song.
