As a producer, Frenchman Joachim Garraud has worked on music for a who’s who of dance and pop acts over his career, including Deep Dish, David Bowie, Kylie Minogue, Cassius, Culture Club, Moby, Jean-Michel Jarre, Robbie Rivera and more. He’s been David Guetta’s primary producer and engineer since the late 90s, and together they established the F*ck Me I’m Famous record label in 2005. In fact Joachim is so revered for his production talents amongst the European dance scene, that at his birthday party a few years back Eric Prydz, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, Axwell and Bob Sinclar all turned up to help him blow out the candles. That doesn’t happen for just anyone.
Garraud toured Australia for the first time in 2006, and he enjoyed the trip so much he’s come back only 6 months later. He’s in the country for the Future Music Festival this month, and ITM’s Angus Paterson recently tracked him down for a chat.
