The shining star of New Zealand’s fruitful dub and reggae scene, Fat Freddy’s Drop achieved cult status around the world in the wake of their stunning 2005 debut LP, ‘Based On A True Story’. Touring exhaustively to all corners of the globe, they’ve established a reputation far and wide for their tight live performances, and in March and April they’re taking a break from recording their sophomore album to play a round of festival dates in Australia. ITM’s Angus Paterson recently tracked down the band’s producer Fitchie, to get the full story on the band’s eagerly anticipated new album.

Fat Freddy’s Drop play shows around Australia this March and April:

Fri 9 Mar – Playground Weekender, Sydney
Sat 10 Mar – Womadelaide, Adelaide
Sun 11 Mar – Golden Plains, Melbourne
Sat 7 Apr – East Coast Blues & Roots Festival, Byron Bay
Sun 8 Apr – The Great Escape, Sydney
