STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEWS
Australia has a long-held tradition of adopting anyone who spends any considerable length of time on our shores as one of our own; Russell Crowe and Richard Wilkinson are both fine (to use the term loosely) examples. However, one we might be able add to the list in the near future – and adopt with pride – is none other than trailblazing turntable technician Carl Cox.
Having been based in an outer Melbourne suburb since November 2006, Cox has been kicking back and resting up in anticipation for the year ahead. In between motorcycle jaunts along the Great Ocean Road he’s also been hard at work on his brand new album, even collaborating with local Australian musicians on tracks. Headlining the Future Music Festival nationally this month, it’s Cox’s first DJ sets since rocking Sydney on NYE and Melbourne on NYD.
Relaxed and raring to go after a 2 month break, Tim Hardaker found Carl to be his usual chatty self when they spoke recently. Listen in to hear how Carl’s seen his lifestyle change following a health scare a few years back, what we can expect from his forthcoming album, and how he’s been keeping himself busy over the Australian summer.
You can catch Carl Cox on the Future Music Festival this March.
