STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
Tommie Sunshine’s pedigree as a tried and tested remix artist well and truly speaks for itself. Putting his unique ‘Brooklyn Fire’ touch to a bevy of underground and overground acts over the years, he’s now at the stage where he’s able to release entire double mix CDs that revolve around work which he’s either features on as a vocalist, has written himself, or remixed (check out the recently release ‘Ultra.Rock Remixed’ CD for proof).
More exciting for the Australian contingent of his rapidly growing fanbase, however, is the fact that he accepted an offer from local clubbing super-brand Onelove to mix one of the discs on their recent ‘Your Disco Will Eat You’ release, alongside Oz’s reigning king of main room electro house, Dirty South, and fellow Stateside identities Denis The Menace & Jerry Ropero. In fact he’s so enamoured with Australian clubs and punters, that he’ll be undertaking his third tour of the country within 18 months this April.
ITM’s Angus Paterson spoke with Tommie as he kicked back in New York, eagerly awaiting his return to Australia this month:
