Any self respecting fan of electronic music will no doubt be aware that one of the scene’s longest serving luminaries, techno heavyweight Carl Cox, has made Melbourne his home base for the antipodean summer.
Since arriving in November last year, Carl took the warm summer months in Australia as a chance to bunker down in his studio and work on his new artist album, in between headline sets in Sydney on NYE, Melbourne on NYD, and around the country in March on the Future Music Festival tour.
As the summer months now rapidly approach for the northern hemisphere, he’s busy preparing to head back towards Europe for the madness that is Ibiza and the summer festival circuit. Before he heads off, though, he’s playing one last show in Melbourne at Billboard, this Friday May 4th. ITM’s Ollie Brooke caught up with Carl for a chat.
