STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

Melbourne producer Dirty South has quite a lot to be chuffed with. After shooting to international stardom with his electro-house remix of Evermore’s ‘It’s Too Late’, which made its way into record boxes of big name DJs around the world – and sees him more recognised in some places than the band he was remixing – he found himself inundated with requests to remix and release music by labels across the globe.

In the time since releasing his debut EP on Australian label Vicious in 2006, he’s put the inimitable Dirty South touch to artists as diverse as Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Kaskade, Roger Sanchez, Chris Lake, Depeche Mode, Fedde Le Grand, Mark Ronson, TV Rock and Josh Wink. He’s also co-produced a 12” for Toolroom Records in the UK with Paul Harris of Dirty Vegas, and released a mix CD for Onelove.

This month he’s head out on the road with John Course to begin a massive national tour for his latest mix CD, the 2007 edition of Ministry Of Sound’s ‘Sessions’ series. ITM’s Mo’Funk spoke with Dirty South recently, and learnt how he’s managed to keep his head screwed on throughout the madness of the last few years.
