STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
Derrick May is one of the founding fathers of the techno movement, having played an integral part in the innovation of the sound since the mid 80s. He’s proved a source of inspiration and influence for just about every electronic artist, with seminal productions like ‘Nude Photograph’ and ‘Strings Of Life’ continuing to sound as current today as the year they were produced.
A native of the legendary epicenter of techno – Detroit – as he explains to Tim Hardaker, he’s had something of a love/hate relationship with the city over the years. Speaking with ITM fresh from the 2007 Movement Festival in his hometown, he’s looking forward to returning to Australia in June, bringing his unique and innovative approach to modern techno to clubs around the country.
Derrick May tours Australia in June:
Sun 3rd Jun – Ministry Of Sound Sessions, Perth
Fri 8th Jun – Sugar, Adelaide
Sat 9th Jun – Chinese Laundry, Sydney
Sun 10th Jun – Miss Libertine, Melbourne
