STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
Kink’s reign over Saturday night clubbing was somewhat unprecedented, having a consistently packed club each and every week for almost 2 years. It wasn’t the first club promoter Scott Robertson had run in Sydney, however, with his first foray into the local market the ill-fated Miss Moneypennies a few years prior. Its failure taught Scott a number of valuable lessons, and as he explains to ITM, helped him to approach Kink with a new perspective.
The lessons he learnt were obviously the right ones, as he’s managed to build a brand that now goes well beyond the Sydney clubbing market, with national tours and CD releases on Ministry Of Sound taking the Kink name up and away. With Saturday nights having become a little crowded in recent months, with Onelove launching late in 2006 and Famous in March of this year, Kink is maintaining its position as one of the city’s most popular weekly events. Tim Hardaker spoke with Scott about the club’s continued success ahead of their 4th birthday this weekend.
Kink celebrate their 4th birthday this weekend at the Arthouse, with special guests Alan Braxe and Kris Menace, as well as regulars Ajax, Ben Morris, Shamus, John Glover, Telefunken and more. Second release tickets are available from ITM now!
