After an extended tour through Europe, Australia’s premier live funk outfit The Bamboos have finally returned home. There’s no rest for the wicked, however, as they’re heading straight back out on the road to launch their latest album ‘Rawville’ this weekend, playing alongside famed UK hip-hop MC Ty in Sydney and Melbourne, before heading over to Adelaide in July.

Released on Quantic’s label TruThoughts, ‘Rawville’ has been dubbed ‘the best funk album of the modern era’ by iDJ. It’s the band’s crowning achievement, and is sure to solidify their reputation as one of the globe’s most revered funk acts. Over the jetlag, ITM’s Mo’Funk spoke with Lance Ferguson of the band about their triumphant European tour.

‘Rawville’ is out now through TruThoughts/Creative Vibes. If you want to catch The Bamboos live in action, then be sure to head along to:

Jun 21 – The Esplanade, Melbourne – w/ Ty
Jun 22 – The Forum, Sydney – w/ Ty
Jul 21 – Rocket Bar, Adelaide
