With releases on some of house music’s biggest labels – including Subliminal, Positiva and Toolroom – Funkagenda has had something of a wild ride the past few years, with a stack of international touring taking him to destinations far a field of his home in England. Whether it’s New York, Russia, Tunisia, Romania or Poland, Funkagenda has proved to be one of house music’s newest superstars, and Australia is finally set to get a taste.
His first steps into production happened way back at the tender age of 13, when he helped to program music for his father. Playing in bands through high school, he became adept at several instruments, and would create his own songs playing all the parts on his 4-track recorder. Upon discovering house music in the late 90s, thanks to the likes of Roger Sanchez, David Morales and Masters At Work, he soon got deep into electronic music production and DJing, and found himself playing UK institutions like Godskitchen and Wobble.
