One of New York City’s finest, Junior Sanchez is widely regarded as a DJ who’s not willing to tow the line when it comes to his craft. He’s famously known for being kicked off the turntables at Pacha in Ibiza when he played a song by indie rockers The Faint, and he’s not interested in charting the latest club floorfillers to maintain his popularity.
As he recently explained to ITM’s Angus Paterson, he DJs for himself, so you’d best not make any requests… Sanchez recently put the finishing touches on a disc for the latest Onelove mix CD, compiling the ‘Backroom’ disc in his usual twisted and inimitable style. He’s also touring the country in July.
‘Onelove: Smash Your Stereo’, mixed by Junior Sanchez, Jason Herd and Andy Murphy, is released late July through Sony BMG. You can catch Sanchez touring Australia this month:
