STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
The hype for Melbourne band the Midnight Juggernauts’ debut album has been steadily rising ever since they released their first EP. It’s been a manic ride for the boys; crisscrossing Australia on tour, as well as venturing far a field to the UK, France, and other destinations across Europe. Far from being your cookie-cutter rock band, the Midnight Juggernauts inhabit the exciting new musical territory that straddles the world of indie and club music, finding favour along fellow trailblazing Aussie bands like Cut Copy, The Presets and The Valentinos (now Lost Valentinos).
Their ability to maintain a popular profile across the rock and dance scene have also seen them called on to remix the likes of !!! (Chk, Chk, Chk), Electric Six and Dragonette, with invitations to play festivals like V, Parklife, Homebake and Future Music all par for the course. In August they’re finally set to come good on all the hype, with their debut album ‘Dystopia’ hitting stores. And, like all good rock bands do, they’ll be packing their gear into the tour bus and motoring around the country to play a string of dates to celebrate its release. ITM’s Tim Hardaker caught up with Vincent Juggernaut recently while the band were on tour in Paris.
‘Dystopia’ is released Saturday August 4th through Siberia/Inertia. Be sure to catch the Juggernauts on their launch tour:
