STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
Jesse F. Keeler has no choice but to be flattered by the constant comparisons that are drawn between MSTRKRFT – his collaboration with super-producer Al-P – and Daft Punk. In all honesty, it would be hard to take it any other way than as a compliment, but as he explains to ITM, he’s got Daft Punk’s blessing, as they’ve explained how they were in the same boat when they started out, dubbed by the press as ‘the next Chemical Brothers’. There’s a lot of hype behind MSTRKRFT, but they’ve proved to be worth the fuss.
MSTRKRFT’s debut album turned so many heads in 2006 that hospitals around the world found themselves inundated with some of the most severe whiplash they’d ever seen. And, on their first ever tour of Australia in October last year, JFK and ALP left a trail of sweaty bodies in their wake, with Tsubi-clad fluoro club kids left bruised and battered, yet all mumbling incoherently that they’d had the “best night of my fucking life”. Get ready to do it all again, as MSTRKRFT are coming back for round 2, touring with the Parklife festival in September and October.
ITM’s Tim Hardaker speaks with JFK about the Daft Punk thing, the Modular thing, the DJing thing, and the remixing thing.
MSTRKRFT touch down in Oz in late September for the national Parklife tour:
Sat 22nd Sep – Melbourne
Sun 23rd Sep – Adelaide
Sat 29th Sep – Brisbane
Sun 30th Sep – Sydney
Mon 1st Oct – Perth

Jimps says...
Their Gold Coast show was not that great, Ajax kinda made them look bad playing by playing before them. Seem to be better producers then DJS.
