STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
As the first artist other than label owner Ben Watt to mix a CD for the Buzzin’ Fly imprint, Justin Martin is a name on the lips of serious underground house fans across the globe. However the Buzzin’ Fly CD, appropriately titled ‘Chaos Restored’, is not the only string to Martin’s bow, as he’s perhaps even more regarded for his role as the brains behind trailblazing San Fran ‘tech-funk’ label Dirty Bird, alongside Claude Von Stroke.
An accomplished producer and remixer, Martin has released music on the aforementioned Buzzin’ Fly and Dirty Bird labels, as well as Om, Freerange, Positiva and more. Presently in Australia on his first ever antipodean tour, ITM’s Angus Paterson tracked him down for a chat.
