STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
With a Liverpudlian accent so thick he puts all of the Beatles to shame, Yousef has been kicking about on the UK house scene since breaking through in the late 90s. He got his start winning the Muzik Magazine ‘Bedroom Bedlam’ competition in 1999 (the very same contest James Zabiela would famously dominate in 2000), and he straight away went to work building a solid reputation for his jackin’ house sound.
Years of hard work had him titled “the UK’s answer to Derrick Carter and DJ Sneak”, and he’s since toured the globe and released mix CDs for Renaissance, Cream and his own Carioca imprint. His latest achievement is the sparkling new ‘Underwater Solo Series’ mix for Darren Emerson’s influential label, and he’s heading back to Australia this month as part of his world tour to promote its release.
If you’d like to get a taste of Yousef’s current sound, be sure to download our feature artist podcast HERE.
