STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

The word electro has been thrown around so much this year, so much so that it’s almost lost its meaning. Come to think of it, does anyone actually know what electro is? Whatever the answer, something that’s a hell of a lot more clear is the fact that Felix Da Housecat was doing the sound of ‘now’ way before most of the new school of electro producers had downloaded their first cracked version of Ableton.

With a rather imposing arsenal of dancefloor destroying hits and remixes to his credit, Felix has also released two artist albums to date. There was his 2001 breakthrough ‘Kittenz And Thee Glitz’, followed 3 years later by the decidedly more chaotic ‘Devin Dazzle & The Neon Fever’. As Felix explains to ITM ‘Devin Dazzle’ was not his best work, and for a number of reasons, but it wasn’t going to stop him on his quest.

Fresh from finishing up work on his brand new opus, ‘Virgo Blaktro & The Movie Disco’, which Felix feels is his most exciting and focused album to date, he recently spoke with Tim Hardaker, giving him the full lowdown on how he approached LP number three differently to anything he’s ever done before.

‘Virgo Blaktro & The Movie Disco’ is out now through Liberator/Warner. Be sure to also check out Felix when he tours Australia this summer!
