STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

Why on earth would Derrick May name a Scotsman the “future of Detroit techno”? As Vince Watson – the man charged with the lofty title by one of the genre’s most legendary figures – explains to ITM, the label has so much more to do with your approach and perspective over geographical location.

Watson has had a long and varied career, having released music on the most notable underground tech labels in the scene, including Carl Craig’s Planet E, Laurent Garnier’s F-Communication and Underground Resistance’s Submerge imprints. He’s spent the best part of 2007 working on a forthcoming album, taking a well-earned break from the club scene, but in November he’ll step out of the studio to visit Australia for the very first time.

Vince Watson tours Australia this November:

Sat 3rd Nov – Haha Industries Boat Party, Sydney
Mon 5th Nov – Blow Your Own Way, Melbourne
Fri 9th Nov – Emote, Canberra
Sat 10th Nov – Chinese Laundry, Sydney
Sun 11th Nov – Mass Nightclub, Brisbane
