STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
Breaking through on the international stage in 2005 as one-half of the Bodyrockers with the smash-hit single ‘I Like The Way You Move’, a lot was said about Kaz James’ rather remarkable success at such a young age. It’s interesting that now – at the ripe old age of 25 – James can be considered something of an industry veteran, having made it through the highs and lows that come with having a worldwide #1 single relatively unscathed. Since splitting with his Bodyrockers partner in crime Dylan Burns, James is focusing on his own solo work, and is quietly optimistic about what the future holds for him.
Raised in Melbourne, Kaz initially made his name as a resident at Onelove. Alongside the likes of Dirty South and Grant Smillie, he’s one of a number of Onelove residents to have achieved notable success in the global scene, and although he now resides in London he’s maintained strong ties with the club to this day, having recently mixed a disc on their brand new ‘Mobile Disco’ CD release. Heading back to Australia this month to tour the country to support the CD’s release, Tim Hardaker tied Kaz down for a chinwag recently.
‘Onelove: Mobile Disco’, mixed by Kaz James, Disco Mafia and Acid Jack, is out soon through Sony BMG. You can catch Kaz playing these dates on the national launch tour:
