STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
Where to start with Booka Shade? They’re simply one of the most popular and well-loved examples of the Berlin minimal sound and as a live electronic act, they’re approaching levels of reverence reserved for the likes of Underworld and Chemical Brothers. Along with DJ T they were responsible for founding the ridiculously successful Get Physical label and after two successful albums and a slew of genre-defining singles like In White Rooms and Body Language, they’ve just released their installment of the DJ Kicks series of compilations.
They blew minds with their Australian tour earlier this year, but once was obviously not nearly enough because they’ll be back in early December to play a number of high-profile festival slots around the country. ITM’s Tim Hardaker has a chat about what we can expect when they do their live thing in Australia again.
Booka Shade’s DJ Kicks compilation is in the stores now through !K7/Inertia, and you can catch them recreating the Get Physical sound at the following dates…
29th November – Family, Brisbane
1st December – Stereosonic, Melbourne
1st December – Ministry of Sound Festival, Sydney
2nd December – Ministry of Sound Festival, Perth
And check here for an update of how progress is ticking along on the upcoming third album which is due next year…
