At a time when everyone’s an electro DJ, Melbourne miscreants Acid Jacks continue to do just what their name suggests. Renowned for free-wheeling party sets in the backroom at Onelove, duo Honeysmack and Bing Bong Cobra have bottled some of that unhinged energy for the new Onelove Mobile Disco compilation. Their contribution, logically titled ‘The Backroom Disc’, is the disobedient wildcard in a package that also including mixes from Kaz James and Disco Mafia.

Further to being home-crowd favourites, the boys have taken a bite out of the Big Apple. With New York bikie-dance icon Tommie Sunshine on their side, it wasn’t long before Acid Jacks saw their club cut Awake Since ’78 being remixed by MSTRKRFT. A contract with niche US label Trouble & Bass Recordings soon followed, and clubs the world over started to feel the Jack. No amount of success, though, can stop these two from raising hell and talking rubbish. They share some thoughts with ITM’s Jack Tregoning.
