STEAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

Bexta has been smashing apart the clubs for a decade now with both her DJ sets and live performances, made up mostly of hard trance, hardstyle and hard house – you may have noticed a mighty big emphasis on the word ‘HARD’ in there! But if you’ve caught her out and about lately or had a listen to her new Mixology 10 compilation then you’ll be aware that Bexta, like a lot of other people out there, is really quite excited by the new wave of progressive/tech trance that’s out there at the moment.

“I absolutely love it; this kind of music feels like what I’ve been waiting my whole career for. Really driving beats, not too aggressive and beautiful melodies. There’s a nice balance there.” She’s out there on the road at the moment pushing that very sound, in addition to pushing forward with her new Mixology Digital label and a whole bunch of her own productions: here she has a chat with ITM’s Angus Paterson.

Mixology 10 is out now through Central Station/MRA, catch her playing at the following dates…

6th December: Platinum feat. Paul van Dyk, Gold Coast
8th December: Enchanted Festival, Adelaide
14th December: Home, Sydney
15th December: Holy Grail, Canberra
28th December: Viper Room, Melbourne
30th December: Mooloolabah, Queensland

And don’t forget she’ll also be heading out on the national Big Day Out tour throughout January and February, playing live shows around the country!

Anyone else disturbed by the continuing sexualisation of female musicians? Not that she's an intellectual, but I doubt if this were a photo of Kid Kenobi he'd be half baring his chest. In a sense it's not just Bexta, but ITM's fault for choosing this as the photograph to publish. Come on guys, ITM doesn't need to be the Herald Sun of dance music.

Do you think she would have got anywhere without looking like that? She has talent, but is also very nice on the eye, and that my friend is how the world works.

Hey mate - this was actually the pics provided to us by the record label, which were taken by them and Bexta in promotion of her new CD. She also mentions in the interview that she's recently done a shoot for Ralph - I think she's obviously pretty comfortable with having a sexy image! :)

Bexta is awesome, great music and a great chick. Seen her play many times and she never fails to deliver the goods. It's a good thing that she is innovative too.

She is a couple of years older than me and is still smoking hot lookin'! But the great thing - she's a musical inspiration with brilliant talents and a wonderful mind. Love this woman.. and she is also the reason Im looking into tech generally! OMG! Did I say that??? lol Go Bexta. Great set last night too :)
