STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

Although the brains behind successful event promotions company Fuzzy are usually happy to stand in the background, preferring instead to let their artists soak up the spotlight, when it comes to the jewel in the crown of their annual event calendar – Field Day – it’s not surprising that Ming, John and Adelle are happy to come out of the shadows and speak their mind.

On NYD 2008 Field Day will celebrate its 7th year, and it’s definitely come a long way since the first event way back in 2002. It’s interesting to see the shift in musical trends across the years, with the party initially starting out as a predominately house and breakbeat focused event. It’s now one of the most diverse on the summer calendar, with electro, hip-hop, tech, indie and more all thrown into the mix.

Listen in as ITM’s Tim Hardaker speaks with Ming about the event’s colourful history and plans for the future, including the news that 2008 will see the Fuzzy Breaks stage dropped from the lineup.

‘Field Day 2008’ the CD is out now through Ministry of Sound/EMI, featuring tracks from festival headliners like Spank Rock, Malente, Green Velvet, Kiss Sellout, Claude Von Stroke, Angello & Ingross and many more!

Can’t wait for NYD08? Get yourself pumped with this clip from Field Day 2007 – Mylo dropping Mason ‘Exceeder’:

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!

field day line up this year is rubbish. there's no headline breaks act on the bill. spank rock are about the only act that adds something different. It should be called electro days........ good vibes anyday.

probably the most generic festival lineup i have seen in a while! reasons good enough to get a group and holiday to SFD!! at least abit of diversity there!!! bring back the good ol days of festivals!!! fun in the sun!. not a competition on who is the most

The line ups not rubbish, is more diverse than it used to be. Although I still can't handle the fashion parade. It's nto about the music anymore. But hey I am too old I guess, give the new generation a go!! :-)

Awesome lineup imo - Von Stroke, Jesse Rose and Kissy Sell Out - that's WIN.

theres no breaks headliner because breaks is dead, even though there is one (Stanton Warriors). Bring on Jesse, Tejada, Claude

Yeah really dissapointing these days with Fuzzy events in general. Music has changed, like you said people don't appreciate the music, it's more of a fashion parade. This generation don't care about misuc, they only care about Drugs, Fashion and themsel
