STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
There’s no denying that the name Carl Cox has grown to become synonymous with dance music culture. In fact, ‘grown’ is probably the wrong term to use, because Cox has been there since earliest days of acid house and rave, and after more than two decades in the game he remains one of the scene’s most enduring figureheads.
A regular visitor to Australia, Carl found himself so enamoured with the antipodean way of life that he purchased himself a property on the Mornington Peninsula nearby Melbourne a few years back. Ever since he’s spent up to 3 months of each year getting some much needed R&R down under, before kicking back into gear with a heavy touring schedule around Europe and the US for the northern hemisphere summer.
Although the primary focus for his annual stay in Australia is to unwind from the year that was, it doesn’t mean he hasn’t found time to squeeze in a spot of touring… lucky for us! Here Carl talks with ITM about life down under.
