On a list of Australia’s leading musical exports, Sarah Main would definitely have to be a high ranker. The vivacious Sydney-born DJ was handed a residency at Pacha Ibiza in 2001, and every summer since she’s spent in true Balearic style. She’s now an international identity: trusted with prestigious warm-up slots and renowned for her adaptability.

A Sarah Main set can cover everything from dark, deep-in-the-night tribal to shimmery vocal house – whatever the night demands. Popular in her adopted home of Spain, the Aussie abroad has also notched up experience in London, New York, Belgium, Singapore and Dubai. Luckily for us, the European winter ensures she’ll always have an impetus to jet back down under.

Here ITM’s Jack Tregoning speaks to Sarah Main ahead of her upcoming tour of Australia, and finds out it hasn’t all gone Pete Tong for her yet.
