STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
If there’s one act that’s equally suited to bustling festivals as they are small-scale gigs, it’s Denmark’s Who Made Who. The irreverent trio have proven a sure thing down under, with three tours in as many years. Their self-titled 2005 album translates effortlessly to the live arena, and there’s always something oddball or downright anarchic happening onstage.
However, the boys from Copenhagen aren’t planning to coast on past glories. They’ve been back in the studio, writing new material for an upcoming record on Munich label Gomma. As hoped, it’s a dancefloor-ready meeting of guitars and synths, navigating through house, disco, jazz, pop and rock. With its members drawn from disparate musical upbringings, it’s little surprise that Who Made Who sound unlike any other outfit. And they’ve got a monopoly on skeleton suits.
Ahead of the band’s third Australian tour for the Future Music Festival, guitarist/vocalist Jeppe Kjellberg forewarns ITM’s Jack Tregoning that we better be ready for a party.
