STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

John Course can easily take the credit for being one of Australia’s most influential dance music heavyweights. Taking a quick look at what this busy boy is up to, he’s got his name slapped on dozens of mix CDs; his voice is heard by thousands on his syndicated radio show; he’s got an exhausting DJ schedule that regularly takes him to every last corner of the country, and if that wasn’t enough he’s also pulling the strings behind the scenes as a record label director and A&R man. And while to the general public’s most well known as one of DJ names behind the massively popular Ministry of Sound Annual and Sessions compilations, he’s also one of the driving forces (along with Andy Van) behind the ever-successful Vicious record label.

Last year it was all about the Ministry for Mr. Course, and it seemed like he was on one long perpetual tour to promote that label’s mega-popular releases, but in early 2008 he’s found some time to put some focus back on what’s going on over at the Vicious label. Vicious Cuts Summer 2008 has just hit the stores and sees him sharing mixing duties with Dirty South, and of course he’ll be embarking on another massive tour! ITM’s Angus Paterson finds out how the big man of Austrlaian dance music has been enjoying 2008 so far.

Vicious Cuts Summer 2008 is out now through Vicious/Universal, and you can catch John Course with Dirty South at the following shows coming up…

Friday 22 Feb – Perth, Vegasmode
Saturday 23 Feb – Sydney, Onelove
Friday 29 Feb – Adelaide, Electric Circus
