The title of the new Lyrics Born album is Everywhere At Once – and there couldn’t be a more apt description of the Bay Area good-time guy. He recently popped up on the Good Vibrations tour as master of ceremonies, a role he handled with signature charisma. That was but a brief interlude between recording his fourth solo album, planning future tours, collaborating with like-minded artists and overseeing Quannum Projects. Somehow, Lyrics Born really can be everywhere at once.

Fans of Lyrics Born’s easygoing, party-minded hip hop will not be disappointed by Everywhere At Once. His rhymes are as direct and playful as ever, but there’s a real polish and grunt to the production that outclasses the albums that came before. With his affinity for vintage sounds, Lyrics Born moved towards live instrumentation on this outing. Jamming with various musicians in the studio, he has come up with a record that recalls ’80s funk and electro, while giving a nod to everything from blues to dancehall. Everywhere At Once is deservedly attracting the man’s best reviews to date.
