STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
Melbourne club fiends Dirty Laundry have been kicking around the traps for a few years now, playing shows across the country at regular intervals as well as the odd festival date here and there. Now, with the launch of their long-awaited debut single (out now) and album (due later this year), they’re set to take things beyond the club and into the mainstream.
Following in the wildly successful trail blazed by fellow Aussie crossover acts Sneaky Sound System and The Potbelleez, Dirty Laundry’s launch single ‘Disco Infected’ is has already gained them exposure and airplay well beyond the club scene. Meshing the sounds of house, electro and disco, they’re known for their mash-up approach to live performance, routinely sending clubs into a sweat-induced frenzy, and with the added interest the album will bring they have plans to customise their show to accommodate.
Now a solid unit following a few line-up changes (including the departure of one-time front-man Seany B, who went on to launch a solo career after his success with TV Rock), the Dirty Laundry crew have solidified their sound and have their sights set on the top. ITM recently caught up with Dean Cherny to find out what makes the Dirty Laundry machine tick.
