STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
It could be said that James Ford and Jas Shaw have the Midas touch when it comes to production. Beginning their auspicious music careers in moderately successful indie band Simian, soon after the collapse of their record label Source they reinvented themselves as a ridiculously cool and cutting edge club duo. Was it as easy as adding ‘Mobile Disco’ to their moniker? Perhaps… but there’s no denying they have the musical chops to back it up.
They’ve remixed bands like Muse, The Go! Team and Air, and James is an in-demand album producer having manned the boards for Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys and even Australia’s own Bumblebeez. Last year they released their long awaited debut album, the critically acclaimed ‘Attack Decay Sustain Release’. Now they’re back with a new mix CD, put together for London uber-club Fabric. ITM’s Tim Hardaker recently spoke with them about their profile down under and that Justice remix.
FabricLive 41, mixed by Simian Mobile Disco, is out next month through Fabric/Inertia. Stay tuned for part 2 of this interview in a few weeks time!
