The latest in a long line of wildly unique artists to emerge from Sweden’s fertile electronic music scene, next month Familjen heads to Australia to show us his take on cutting edge electro-pop; Scandinavian style. Known to the taxman as Johan T Karlsson, Familjen’s track ‘Det Snurrar I Min Skalle’ (English translation; ‘It’s Spinning In My Head’) has become a veritable underground hit in Australia, gaining a-list rotation on Triple J and earning Album Of The Week status on FBi, PBS and in Time Out magazine. Not bad for someone who sings his lyrics entirely in Swedish and originally wrote his breakthrough track as a wedding present for his sister.
