STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
It’s been a goddamn long time coming, but Van She – Modular’s next great white indie hope – have finally delivered their hotly anticipated debut album V. Since first sashaying onto the scene in 2005 with their self titled EP, the four-piece have won hearts around the country thanks to consistent touring and club smashing remixes under the Van She Tech pseudonym.
Not quite ‘rock’ and not quite ‘dance’, the band straddle the divide between these once disparate scenes with ease. Of course they’re not the only band to do so, but there’s no arguing they have a sound and style that’s all their own. From the spaced out rock of Cat & The Eye to the shimmering disco stomp of Strangers, it’s an album that delivers on the hype. ITM speaks with the band’s namesake (and bassist), Matt Van Schie.
V is out now through Modular/Universal. inthemix proudly presents Van She’s Album Launch Party Tour throughout August and September:
