STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEWS
With two European tours under their belt over the past year, there’s no denying Kiwi drum & bass live act Shapeshifter are in the best form of their illustrious career. Rocking Parklife to its core across Australia in 2007, they’ve also toured their home country several times of late, and even got the chance to take an orchestra on the road with them to present their music in full symphonic glory.
Although we’re not going to get to see the Shapeshifter symphony in Australia any time soon we’re glad to hear they recorded their final orchestra set, performed in Christchurch, New Zealand, for a tasty live album that hits stores this month. As is de rigueur for an album of its ilk, the band is also heading back to Australia in September for a run of shows to celebrate its release. ITM’s Angus Paterson speaks with the band ahead of the tour.
Shapeshifter Live is out now through Pattern/Inertia. The band play shows around the country proudly presented by inthemix over the coming weeks:
5 Sep – Metro, Sydney
6 Sep – Great Northern Hotel, Byron Bay
7 Sep – The Zoo, Brisbane
11 Sep – Rosemount, Perth
12 Sep – Govenor Hindmarsh, Adelaide
13 Sep – The Forum, Melbourne
