STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
Over the past few years Mark Ronson has exhibited the uncanny ability of being – almost – everywhere at once. You’d catch him on the road thanks to constant touring, in the studio whenever he has as spare moment, and thanks to his choice of collaborators and personal relationships, often plastered across tabloids worldwide. It’s a hard life (and one that most would envy!), but it’s something he’s learnt to take in his stride.
When inthemix got on the phone to Ronson just last week he was squeezing in a few interviews outside of his demanding studio schedule. He’s just finished up work on the long delayed album from Australia’s Daniel Merriweather, with whom he’s collaborated regularly over the past few years – Merriweather touring as part of Ronson’s live band and also providing the vocals for one of his biggest hits, Stop Me.
Ronson will tour his acclaimed Version album to Australia in November for the very first time, bringing the full funk spectacular to Global Gathering stages around the country. “This is the absolutely last little run of shows we’re doing,” Mark revealed to inthemix. “It would have felt like such a waste to have done this tour for 16 months and not come to Australia. We want to put on a really great and memorable show and do the album justice!”
Find out what else Mark Ronson had to say in Part 1 of our inthemix interview. Stay tuned for Part 2 coming in a few weeks time, and remember to head to inthemix.com.au/globalgathering for all the latest info on the tour, including interviews, news, DJ mixes, videos and more.
