STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
If any of you were wondering why things have been so quiet for the Dutch trance master this year, you can take consolation in knowing it was for a very good reason: for most of ‘08, Ferry Corsten was holed up in his studio nailing down his third artist album Twice In a Blue Moon. Its first single Radio Crash has already been getting a caning in the clubs since it leaked out to the public in late September, but otherwise Twice In a Blue Moon has been worth a little bit of ‘Ferry deprivation’ for all his fans; arguably, it’s his best and most fully realised album yet.
“Whereas on my previous album L.E.F. there was a house track on the one hand and a trance track on the other, here all these different styles are combined into the single track,” Ferry told ITM. “It’s a lot more mature, and it’s a little more polished too… And I’ve actually been heading back over to the more melodic side of things.”
Last in Australia as one of the headliner’s for Future Music Festival in ‘07, trance fans don’t have long to wait now because Ferry Corsten will be back to rip apart our festivals and clubs over the New Year period. He’s earned himself the reputation as one of the world’s most energetic party DJs, and he assures us he’ll be bringing the noise. “I’m really psyched, and I’m gonna be bringing the energy, that’s for sure.” ITM’s Angus Paterson gets the details as the NY party season draws closer.
Stay tuned for part 2 of ITM interview! Twice In a Blue Moon is out now through Stomp, and you can catch Ferry Corsten getting really full on at the following shows over New Years party season…
