STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW

Never one to slow down, prolific producer Diplo recently re-teamed with UK studio master Switch for the dancehall-lovin’ project, Major Lazer.

Having previously worked together to work on tracks for the likes of Santigold and M.I.A. (they did her enormous Paper Planes jam) Built around the concept of a Jamaican mercenary battling hordes of zombies and vampires with his lazer arm (as you do), the project was always going to be entertaining. But more than that, the album that was born from Major Lazer, the funked up Guns Don’t Kill People, Lazers Do, solidifies Diplo and Switch’s reputation as one of the most dynamic partnerships in the game, and one that is continually bringing innovative material to the forefront of the scene.

ITM’s Dave Ruby Howe caught up with one half of Major Lazer, Diplo (that’s Wesley Pentz to his Mum) to discuss Twitter, the producer’s love of iPhone applications and the duo’s upcoming Australian tour.

Major Lazer’s Guns Don’t Kill People, Lazers Do is out now through Inertia.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
