When Anthony Pappa released the second volume of his Moments compilation last month, the ITM review gave it a rather impressive stamp of approval. “The Pappasaurus has given us a release that hits the mark on so many levels; a combination of techno, minimal, progressive, that is rich in goodness in oh so many ways. Set across two discs, this is without doubt one of the classiest compilations of 2009.” High praise indeed!

“I’m really pleased with it, I thought the mix came out well the way that the tracks fit together, it all gelled in really nicely,” Anthony told ITM, telling us he had some excellent material to draw from this time around. “The techy prog stuff got more housey, the proggy stuff got more techy, and some of the trancey stuff got more proggy,” he laughed. “So everybody is being a little bit different, and taking different influences from different genres.”

For anybody who’s keen for another slice of Anthony Pappa’s ‘moments’, he’ll be back in mid December for a solid antional tour, passing by all the festivals this time and sticking to our darkened nightclubs. “The Sydney gig is Chinese Laundry, the Melbourne gig is Darkbeat, I think Rise in Perth and I’m sure the others are all clubs too.” ITM’s Angus Paterson talks to Anthony and finds out more.
