Having climbed to the top of the Australian electro heap back in 2007 with their ambitious indie-dance epic Dystopia Melbourne synth rock maestros Midnight Juggernauts have been unseasonably quiet. Sure there was a prolonged European expedition which took up the bulk of 2008, seeing the trio wow audiences unfamiliar with our local brand of banging electronic indie, but we’ve truly missed the Juggers lads around these parts.
Thankfully for us deprived fans, Midnight Juggernauts’ comeback is here, with the band returning from the wilderness earlier in October with a brand new single This New Technology, an eccentric ode to ‘70s psychedelica blended with the band’s signature cosmic synthitude. It’s the first taste of the Juggers’ upcoming second album, and ITM’s Dave Ruby Howe caught up with the band’s skinsman Daniel Stricker to get the full scoop on what surprises the band have in store for fans on the record, as well as war stories from their European getaway and how they’ve adapted to the changes on the Australian musical climate.
